A Latvian man will be jailed after pleading guilty to murdering his young wife in Kent after their marriage had broken down.. Agris Titans, 25, admitted strangling 22-year-old Edite Titane at their home in Rochester last year.Her sister, who also lived at the house in Cecil Road, discovered her body, triggering a large-scale manhunt by police for Titans.Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate made a public appeal to locate him and he was eventually found more than 30 hours later walking along Rochester High Street.

He was arrested and charged with murdering Mrs Titane sometime between July 30 and August 1 last year but he denied the charge.At Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, on what would have been the first day of his trial, he pleaded guilty to murder and he will be sentenced on Tuesday, Kent Police said.
